TS FCW 50 FLEXIBLE CEMENTITIOUS WATERPROOFING

TS SEMI-FLEXIBLE CEMENTITIOUS WATERPROOFING FCW-50 is a two component polymer modified flexible cementitious waterproofing membrane.  It can be easily applied by brush, roller, spray or trowel to obtain the desired texture. TS FCW-50 is capable of bridging hairline cracks. The degree of resistance of TS FCW-50 to water pressure depends on the coatings thickness.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The substrates must be clean and sound, free of dust and loose particles.  Cement laitance, oil, grease, moulds release agents must be removed from concrete surfaces by wire brushing, wire scrabbling or by other means.  Dampen the substrates prior to application.

It is recommended that a cement and sand fillet be formed at all corners to receive the waterproofing membrane.

Prior to the application of the waterproofing membrane, dampen the substrate with water while ensuring that no free water is present on the surface.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Pour Part A (liquid) into a clean container.  Slowly add Part B (powder) into the container and mix with a slow speed mechanical mixer until homogenous and lump free.  Allow the mix to stand for 5 minutes and re-stir manually before use.

APPLICATION

For best results, damp the surface before coating with TS FCW-50.
Can also serve as Top-Coating of Concentrated Cementitious Waterproofing.

For horizontal and vertical surfaces, a roller, brush or spray gun, may be used to apply the slurry.  Care must be taken to ensure that air is not entrapped in the membrane.

Apply the first coat and work generously to fill all the pores and honeycombs.  Allow the membrane to dry approximately 2 to 3 hours prior to application of the second coat.  The second coat must be applied crosswise.

After applying the second coat of waterproofing membrane, allow a minimum curing time interval of 15 – 72 hours before laying the screed and commencing ponding test.  Should ponding test exceed 4 hours, a minimum curing time interval of 72 hours is recommended.

PACKAGING

TS FCW-50 is available in 35 or 25 kgs. pack

STORAGE

The shelf life of TS FCW-50 is 12 months when stored unopened in a cool dry place.

COVERAGE

The coverage rate of TS FCW -50 is:

1.0 to 1.4 kg/m2 for 1 coat application

2.0 to 2.8 kg/m for 2 coats application to obtain approximately 1.5mm thickness depending on site conditions.


Note:  Coverage figures are theoretical and due to wastage factors and the nature of possible substrates, practical coverage will be reduced.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

TS FCW-50 should be treated with care.  Gloves and goggles should be worn.  Any splashes to the skin or eyes should be washed off with clean water.  Powder products should be handled to minimize dust imation.

INDUSTRIAL TYPE ELASTOMERIC WATERPROOFING PAINT / COATING

Note: This is not your ordinary commercial based elastomeric paint.
Warranty is up to 5 years watertight wall. And can be top-coated by Davi's Paint, Boysen Paints, or any commercial based paints for desired color.

TS 10 - Industrial Type Elastomeric Waterproofing Paint is a high performance UV resistant water based coating formulated based on 100% Acrylic Emulsion for use as waterproofing paint on walls and roofs. It possesses outstanding exterior durability and excellent elasticity and elongation properties necessary to bridge forthcoming hairline cracks without cracking or wrinkling. Highly recommended for the waterproofing of roof deck, concrete gutters, toilet and bath, G.I. Roofing and Roof tiles and as protective coating for Polyurethane Foams.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM OF APPLICATION

A. Concrete surfaces
1.    Apply one full coat of TS 212- Epoxy Deep Penetrating Sealant or TS 213 Concrete Acrylic Sealer as primer. Allow drying for at least 4 hours. Apply at package consistency.
2.    Apply 3 – 5 coats by brush or roller of TS 10 - Elastomeric Waterproofing paint until a dry film thickness of 8 – 10 mills is attained. Allow an undercoating interval of at least 2 – 4 hours. Fiber reinforcement is recommended for roof deck, concrete gutter, toilets and other areas where there’s possible immersion in water.
NOTE: All cracks greater than 2mm must be repaired.

B. Galvanized Iron Roofing
1.    Apply TS 214 Epoxy Zinc Chromate Primer (for new G.I.) or TS 211 Epoxy Red oxide Primer (for old G.I.). Allow drying overnight. May be reduced with Sealbond Epoxy Reducer if necessary.
2.    Apply three (3) coats of TS 10 Elastomeric Waterproofing Paint.  Allow an undercoating interval of at least 2 – 4 hours.

MAPEI MAPELASTIC ( two component cementitious mortar WATERPROOFING)

MAPEI MAPELASTIC is a two component cementitious mortar, flexible down to -20 Deg. Celsius ( can be used to waterproof walk-in freezers, chillers, or cold storage here in the Philippines), for waterproofing balconies, terraces, bathrooms, swimming pools, and decks.

Where to use ( Waterproofing ):
Waterproofing and protection of concrete structures, renders and cementitious screeds.

Some application  examples:
• Waterproofing of concrete basins used for containing water.
• Waterproofing bathrooms, showers, balconies, terraces, swimming pools, etc. before laying ceramic tile  finishes.
• Waterproofing of plasterboard, render or cementitious surfaces, lightweight cement blocks and marine-grade plywood.
• Flexible smoothing layer for light-sectioned concrete structures, including those subjected to minor deformation when under load (e.g. pre-cast panels).
• Protection of renders or concrete with cracks caused by shrinkage, against the infiltration of water and aggressive atmospheric elements.
• Protection, against the penetration of carbon dioxide, of concrete pillars beams and road and railway viaducts repaired with products from the Mapegrout range, and structures with an insufficient layer of concrete covering on the reinforcement rods.
• Protection of concrete surfaces which may come into contact with seawater, de-icing salts, such as sodium or calcium chloride, and sulphates

Preparation of the mortar:
Pour component B (liquid) into a suitable, clean container, then slowly add component A (powder) while stirring
with a mechanical mixer.
Carefully mix Mapelastic for a few minutes, making sure that no powder remains stuck to the sides or the bottom of the container.
Keep stirring until a perfectly homogenous mix is obtained.
Use a low-speed mechanical mixer for this operation to avoid too much air being dragged into the mix.
Do not prepare the mix by hand. Preparation of Mapelastic may also be carried out with a mortar mixer, which is usually supplied with mortar sprayers.
If this technique is used, make sure that the mix is homogenous and has no lumps
before it is poured into the hopper of the pump.
 
CONSUMPTION
Manual application:
approx. 1.7 kg/m² per mm of thickness. Spray gun application:
approx. 2.2 kg/m² per mm of thickness.

STORAGE
Mapelastic
component A may be stored for up to 12 months in its original packaging.

Mapelastic component B may be stored up to 24 months.

Store Mapelastic in a dry place and at a temperature of at least +5°C.
